We ensure the secure and agile operation of data networks of the city of Brno. We operate, manage and help build the Brno metropolitan network – the high-speed communication infrastructure of the city. We take care of security, availability and fast data transfer between strategic Brno institutions and organisations.

THE BRNO METROPOLITAN NETWORK (BMN) IS A COMMUNICATION INFRASTRUCTURE THAT ENABLES THE INTERCONNECTION OF IMPORTANT NODAL POINTS OF THE CITY.

The basis of the metropolitan network is the interconnection of individual strategic buildings by fibre optic cables, which provides the prerequisite for high-speed connection of all its users.

The purpose of the metropolitan network is to create a high-speed communication infrastructure based on the TCP/IP protocol, covering, in its final form, practically the entire territory of the city of Brno. The metropolitan network should have an open character and should provide high quality and accessible services of data transmission, digitised image and sound to the widest possible range of citizens and institutions.

The Brno Metropolitan Network is guaranteed by the Department of Municipal Informatics of the Brno City Hall. Technické sítě Brno, akciová společnost provides its service and administration and also participates in its building.

DISK STORAGE

MODERN DISK STORAGE BASED ON HIGH AVAILABILITY OF 99.999% AND LOCATED IN TWO GEOGRAPHICALLY SEPARATED LOCATIONS WITHIN THE CITY OF BRNO.

Modern disk storage based on high availability of 99.999% and located in two geographically separated locations within the city of Brno enables:

GEOGRAPHIC INFORMATION SYSTEM

The geographic information computer system enables the acquisition, storage, processing and access to geographically referenced data in the territory of the City of Brno. It is based on digital geographic data in vector format, which are closely linked to information contained in system databases.
